Christmas Tree Pizza

The holiday bug has bit and we are enjoying all things Christmas in the Hernandez home! To get my kids in the holiday spirit, I made this Christmas tree pizza and they loved it. I wanted to practice some Christmas party appetizers ahead of time because I know that the holiday season gets extremely busy and having a tried and true recipe ready to go is a lifesaver. This Christmas tree pizza is easy to make despite looking really fun and festive.

Pull-Apart Christmas Tree Pizza

Christmas Tree Pizza Ingredients

  • Jus-Rol Pizza Dough– a staple for all things pizza in our household! So easy to use because it comes on parchment paper. Just unroll and cook. Every single time I have made a recipe with this brand of dough, all 5 of my family members have loved it! It is our favorite.
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni
  • Italian blend seasoning
  • Butter
  • Garlic powder

How to make Christmas Pizza

How to Make a Christmas Tree Pizza

I wanted to make this pizza so fun! You can use a sharp knife and just cut pizza dough in the shape of a Christmas tree if you like but I decided to take it a step up by making the “tree branches” filled with cheese and pizza sauce. I wanted them to be easy to pull-apart for a fun appetizer. I would make a couple of these to bring to a holiday party and would wrap them loosely in aluminum foil to keep warm.

Easy Christmas Tree Pizza

To make pizza in a Christmas tree shape, roll out your Jus-Rol pizza dough and cut into a triangle with a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. Use the extra pieces to make another large triangle the size of the first one. Add a tiny tree trunk with additional dough. Spread the first triangle with pizza sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Place the other triangle on top of the first one.

Cut dough into strips leaving the center intact (leave about an inch in the center). Twist the sides of the dough. Add more pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni in the middle. Bake in the oven and once cooked through, top the breadsticks part with a mixture of butter, garlic powder and Italian seasonings.

Christmas Tree Pizza Topping Options

I kept it simple with pepperoni for toppings but please feel free to add whatever toppings you like! Mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, sausage, whatever you like will work great. Also, if you don’t like pizza sauce, feel free to use pesto. Make it how you like!

This Christmas Tree Pizza is such a fun addition to any holiday gathering. You can enjoy it for a dinner or an appetizer. I made sure to make 2 because I knew my kids would gobble this pizza up and I was right!

The Jus-Rol pizza dough makes this pizza come together in no-time instead of having to make dough from scratch. We have served this dough at New Year’s gatherings- my husband Troy calls it a Troyzone (like a calzone) and it is always a party hit.
