Stuck for healthy snack ideas or snack ideas for after school? Snacking doesn’t have to come associated with guilt and you can make snacks cheaply and easily at home.
Here’s a delicious moist banana muffin recipe that is easy to make and isn’t packed with too much added sugar. These are fabulous for packed lunches or perfect for a snack with a cuppa.

Healthy Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
Prep Time 10 minutes

ripe bananas -

g
peanut butter -
150
g
natural yoghurt -

g
honey -

eggs -

self raising flour (wholemeal if you have it and gluten free flour works well too) -

tsp
baking powder -
1/2
tsp
bicarbonate of soda -

tsp
cinnamon -

oats -

dark chocolate, in chunks and some shavings

Preheat the oven to 200C, 180 fan. Prepare a muffin tin with muffin tin cases.

Mash the bananas (top tip, you can freeze ripe bananas and defrost to use for baking).

Mix in the nut butter, yoghurt, honey, and eggs.

Add in the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon, oats and mix.

Spoon or use an ice-cream scoop to fill the muffin cases, then push a chunk of chocolate into each muffin. Top with grated chocolate and bake for 20 minutes.
