Dignity Health Medical Network — Santa Cruz and Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group are recipients of the 2022 Excellence in Healthcare Award from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) for top performance on clinical quality, patient experience and cost measures. Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group also scored in the top 10% in clinical quality for their commercial HMO populations.
A key component of IHA’s statewide Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) Program, the Excellence in Healthcare Award, recognizes provider organizations that perform in the top 50 percent in all three major AMP areas: clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care.
Of the nearly 200 provider organizations statewide participating in the AMP Program, only 27 attained Excellence in Healthcare Award performance standards for 2022, based on AMP results for measurement year 2021.
“We are honored to be recognized for our work to deliver high-quality, affordable care,” said Steven Magee, MD, President of Santa Cruz Medical Group. “Receiving this recognition is a direct result of the collective effort from our entire care team to ensure an exceptional experience for our patients.“
IHA honors provider organizations with the highest levels of performance for each AMP Commercial HMO measurement domain. Specifically, the Top Ten Percent Performance recognition acknowledges physician organizations that achieve the 90th percentile or above in the Clinical Quality, Patient Experience, and/or Total Cost of Care domains – i.e., the Triple Aim – for their commercial HMO members. Dignity Health Mercy Medical earned this award in the “Clinical Quality” category.
“Congratulations to the entire Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group team for earning this great distinction,” said Alan Shatzel, DO, MBA, CEO of Dignity Health Mercy Medical Group. “These recognitions reflect our commitment to deliver high-quality coordinated care in a way that improves the health of our patients and also reduces the total cost of care for those we serve.”
The awards were presented on Dec. 8 at IHA’s Annual Stakeholders’ Conference. To learn more about AMP and the IHA, please click here.
