RICHMOND, Ind. — Reid Health has changed the name of its orthopedics care center to reflect its diverse offerings.
The practice off U.S. 27 north of the Interstate 70 interchange is now the Reid Health Comprehensive Bone and Joint Center, according to a release. It now has more than 20 providers for a variety of needs.
“In the past, we were just an orthopedic center, so we had some of the services we needed to take care of everything inside of musculoskeletal health, but we needed space to grow and to add new kinds of practitioners,” said orthopedic surgeon Joel McClurg.

“We can see more patients with the new space and new providers, but we also tried to set it up so it’s an easier flow for the patient. They can come in, get the treatment they need, and get out faster. It’s taking better care of the patient more efficiently and having better outcomes in the end, which is really what it’s all about.”
The building at 1400 Highland Road was renovated to provide space for practices that have relocated to the facility. Services now offered at the location are:
-
Orthopedics;
-
Reid’s Ortho Walk-in NOW clinic;
-
Spine care;
-
Podiatry;
-
Hand;
-
Pain management;
-
Sports medicine/active lifestyle;
-
Reid Health perioperative clinic; and
-
Athletic training clinic.
“We want our patients to know they are our No. 1 priority,” said Monica Schlichter, Musculoskeletal Service Line director for Reid Health. “We not only want them to get the best care, but we also want to make it easy. With our comprehensive approach, they can see many different specialties all in one place.”
